The primary goal of Black Eden Acres (“BEA”) is to aid in the growth, development and revitalization of the historic community of Idlewild by increasing tourism.  Our initial plan was to increase tourism by providing outdoor accommodations including an RV Park & Campground and rental cabins surrounded by a beautiful forest of fruit and flowering trees, a riding stable and other activities for its visitors to enjoy.  Unfortunately, the current zoning ordinance does not allow for an RV Park & Campground, so BEA will focus on other areas of its original plan which already aligns with the current agricultural zoning ”a beautiful forest of fruit and flowering trees, a riding stable and other activities for its visitors to enjoy.”

Agricultural business, also known as agri-business, is the farming, management, production, and marketing of agricultural commodities, such as livestock and crops.    

 

HOMESTEADING/ ORCHARD/VINEYARD

If you live in Michigan then you know that our favorite autumn past time is visiting apple orchards.  It’s a Michigan tradition to pick apples and drink apple cider while nibbling on those warm freshly homemade donuts, and enjoying hayrides and corn mazes with family.  BEA wants to bring that same experience to the Idlewild area.

 

BEA’s VISION FOR THE FUTURE is a homestead farmhouse surrounded by a 40-acre apple orchard and vineyard.  You'll be able to visit our farm, enjoy horseback riding and purchase our organic homegrown/homemade farm products.
